Bio

Madisen Porter is an artist, educator, and lifelong creative whose work combines technical skill with meaningful expression. She has been passionate about art since childhood, taking advanced art classes as a young student and even starting college-level training while still in high school.

She studied at both the University of Utah and Utah Tech University (formerly Dixie State University), where she completed the equivalent of a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Madisen also gained hands-on experience through a nearly two-year apprenticeship with artist Casey Childs and classical training with renowned artist Jeff Hein. These experiences helped her refine her skills in drawing, painting, and observational work.

Madisen’s artwork has been shown in several galleries and exhibitions, such as Arte Gallery in St. George, Las Lunas Gallery, Springville Art Museum, and J. Kirk Richards Gallery. You can find her work for sale at Morte’s Café, on her Etsy shop, or as fine art prints directly from her. She works in both traditional and digital mediums, focusing on thoughtful, visually engaging pieces and commissioned art.

Alongside her fine art background, Madisen has over ten years of experience in graphic design, photography, and marketing. Madisen is a dedicated and experienced instructor. She has taught private art lessons over several school terms, worked with both children and adults, and hosted many paint nights and group classes. Her teaching style builds strong artistic fundamentals in an encouraging and approachable way, helping each student gain confidence, develop creativity, and feel proud of their work.

As a mother of two, Madisen brings patience, encouragement, and a true love for teaching to every class. She believes art is more than just a skill—it is a powerful way to build confidence, focus, and self-expression.
